Description

ATTICA. Athens. Ca. 465-455 BC. AR tetradrachm (25mm, 17.19 gm, 2h). NGC Choice XF 4/5 - 4/5. Head of Athena right, wearing earring and crested Attic helmet ornamented with three laurel leaves and vine scroll with two sprays, the end pointing at her ear / AΘE, owl standing right, head facing; olive sprig with berry and crescent moon behind, all within incuse square. HGC 4, 1596. Starr Group V. Excellent centering on subdued lustrous surfaces.
