Description

Vittorio Emanuele III gold Matte Proof 100 Lire 1925-R PR66 NGC, Rome mint, KM66, Fr-32, Montenegro-17, Pag-645. Mintage: 5,000. Of standout technical and visual caliber, and ranked near the apex of NGC's census, this delightful offering, celebrating Vittorio Emanuele III's silver jubilee, immediately presents the viewer with a luxurious coating of mint frost that remains virtually undisturbed by contact. A bold strike firmly cements the eye appeal, while hardly a trace of handling disturbs the velveteen, delicate features. Out of NGC's current population of 114 examples certified to date, only three rank finer, each only by the addition of a further "+", placing this soundly gem representative exceedingly close to a finest-certified status for this low-mintage, single-year type, of which PCGS has thus far seen none of comparable quality.
