Spain Banco de Espana 1000 Reales de Vellon 1.5.1862 Pick UNL Proof PCGS Apparent New 62. The Bank of Spain was branded as such in 1856, and any extant financial instruments from 1856 to the First Republic are extremely rare today. This Uniface Proof is a desirable and scarce relic from the second banknote series. The tears in the selvage area do not enter the body of the note. A minor paper pull is mentioned for accuracy. In 1873, all previous issues were withdrawn as new Republican banknotes were issued. The first we have offered of this type, which is unlisted in the Standard Catalog.
