Rwanda Banque Nationale du Rwanda 1000 Francs 3.7.1962 Pick 5 PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. This scarce 1000 Francs is the finest graded of only four notes registered in the PMG Population Report. The dissolution of Rwanda and Burundi occurred in 1964, which was also the same year that Rwanda ordered their own notes. There was however a shortage, or lag that forced the Bank to repurpose already delivered "Rwanda Et Du Burundi" notes. The Bank hand embossed the 500 and 1000 Francs with "Banque Nationale Du Rwanda", and can be seen over the portrait of a zebra. Minor stains are noted for accuracy but do not detract from the overall appearance on this scarcity.
