Lower Canada copper "Bust & Harp" Token 1820/5 MS63 Brown NGC, Br-1012, LC-60-22 (prev. LC-60A2), Haxby-pg. 123, Courteau-22, BH-22 (R10), Robins-29316. Plain edge. Coin alignment. An exemplary specimen of this extremely rare overdate variety, produced as the mint wished to antidate the die to make a piece that would still be legal under existing Canadian law. Superbly struck with minor handling marks. The Douglas Robins coin (lot 29316) was only XF40 Brown NGC and sold for $10,800 on April 20, 2018. This Mint State coin is probably the finest known example of the 1820/5 overdate, and was missing from both the McKay-Clements and W.W.C. Wilson collections. Sold with old collector envelope detailing provenance. Purchased from Warren Baker on May 20, 1973
