Description

George VI gold Proof 5 Pounds 1937 PR64 S NGC, KM861, Fr-409, S-4074, W&R-435. Mintage: 5,500. Of inspiring quality and technical caliber for this largest coronation set issue of George VI, the sun-gold, mirrored fields bright and luminous. Touches of a light silver patina are traceable in the fields, with a hint of a cameo contrast observable at most viewing angles, though this is not noted on the holder. A "star" of a coin.
