Valencia. Ferdinand V gold 2 Ducat (Double Principat) ND (1479-1516) MS62+ NGC, Valencia mint, Fr-85, MEC VI-Unl., Cay-2342. 6.91gm. +FER∂INAN∂VS x ∂EI GRACIA x REX, crowned bust of Ferdinand left within tressure / +VALENCIE x MAIO | RICARVM x SER∂, crowned arms of Aragon within tressure, annulets in spandrels, shield with rampant lion left below. The first example of issue we have offered, and a quite rare denomination in general, NGC's census suggesting that just a mere 2 examples rank half a point finer. Though admittedly double-struck over the bust, the coin otherwise preserves handsome detail with full luster and areas of die polish observed throughout. Ex.
