Catherine II gold 10 Roubles 1769/8-СПБ UNC Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, St. Petersburg mint, cf. KM-C79a (overdate not listed), Fr-129a, Bit-22 (R; same), Diakov-221 (same), Petrov-22 Rub (same). A clear, and yet seemingly unpublished, overdate in the standard literature, with this being one of only two examples that we have been able to locate coming to auction in recent years. Displaying abundant remaining luster, with light rubbing and barely noticeable hairlines in the obverse field, this is currently the finest example of this overdated variety certified by NGC.
