Description

Vittorio Emanuele II gold 100 Lire 1872-R AU55+ NGC, Rome mint, KM19.2, Gig-2, Pag-452. Mintage: 661. A great rarity in the Italian series, a consequence of the date's low mintage numbering well under 1,000 examples. For this reason Mint State offerings are particularly challenging, and as of this writing a mere 10 examples have been certified in this condition across both PCGS and NGC. The selection at hand offers pleasing golden reflectivity, an attractive pale amber tone settled over the surfaces and conveying a sense of history and unique appeal.
