Aelia Eudocia, Eastern Roman Empire (AD 423-460). AV solidus (21mm, 4.48 gm, 5h). NGC MS 5/5 - 4/5. Constantinople, AD 423-429. AEL EVDO-CIA AVG, pearl-diademed, draped bust of Aelia Eudocia right, seen from front, wearing necklace and earring, hair elaborately weaved with long plait up the back of head and tucked under diadem, crowned with wreath by hand of God reaching down from above / VOT XX-MVLT XXX, Victory standing facing, head left, long jeweled cross with horizontal crossbar in right hand, folds of stola in left; star in upper left field, CONOB in exergue.
