Spain Banco de Espana 100 Pesetas 24.6.1898 Pick 48 PMG Very Fine 30. Only the 50 and 100 Pesetas denominations were issued in 1898, both of which featured Gaspar Melchor de Javellanos. The design is largely the same on the face as the 1893 issues, save for the cherub. The back is completely redesigned, with Apollo in profile and an allegorical woman (Science) holding a triangle and mirror. Some minor restorations are noted, but not detracting from the eye appeal.
