Description

Canada Dominion of Canada $1 17.3.1917 Pick 32b DC-23a-ii PMG Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. Superior centering and embossing is seen on this larger Dominion of Canada issue. This example was the only new design to have been introduced during World War II, and the only note of this 1917 series. Princess Patricia of Connaught, granddaughter of Queen Victoria, is featured on the face with a view of the Houses of Parliament on the back. We have only sold two examples finer than this. One of those was a virtually identical piece to this one, graded PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ, that was only six serial numbers away and realized $9,400 in our 2014 Central States sale. A prize piece that will make a welcome addition to any advanced Canadian Currency collection.
