Kiau Chau. German Occupation nickel-plated brass 10 Pfennig Token ND (c. 1914) AU53 NGC, Menzel-4287.1.2. A thoroughly scarce token type, produced in Berlin for the German colony of Kiau Chau, which ultimately fell to the Japanese in 1914. The issue frequently comes weakly struck atop the high points, leading to its thin nickel plating rubbing off atop the devices.
