China People's Bank of China 10 Yuan 1953 Pick 870 S/M#C283-14 PMG Very Fine 30. The short-lived, highest denomination 10 Yuan of 1953 is one of the key notes for 20th century China. Standard circulation and a few closed pinholes are seen on this pleasing, large format type. Although the denomination itself sounds small, this series was reevaluated and many zeros were removed from the previous series to stabilize the Yuan. When this series was redeemed in favor of a 1960s series, very few of these notes survived. Iconic and rare, and desirable with such good eye appeal.
