China People's Bank of China 100 Yuan 1949 Pick 835a S/M#C282 PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. Fantastic, pack-fresh original qualities are easily seen on this impressive banknote. It is the initial denomination of a newer series that used Western style dating. This is the only design variety for this initial denomination, which is surprisingly rare in any and all grades. In fact, this is a key denomination of the series, only eclipsed in value by the iconic green 50,000 Yuan dated 1950. High quality examples of this banknote are few and far between, as evidenced by the scant few grading Gem Uncirculated. At the time of cataloging, no examples grade finer in the PMG Population Report and no example in this grade has been sold publicly until now.
