British Colony Counterstamped 5 Pence ND (1758) AU58 NGC, KM1.3, Prid-8 (this coin). Displaying GR counterstamp on the obverse and reverse of a Ferdinand VI 1/2 Real 1756-LM from Peru (cf. KM51). The smallest denomination in the series and one which is virtually impossible to locate without some evidence of circulation, with only a single Mint State certified piece existing in the NGC census. Usually heavily worn, the present piece shows a definitive degree of detail, with a deep cabinet patina adding yet further appeal. Ex. Pridmore Collection, Part I (Glendining September 1981, Lot 170)
