Republic gold 8 Escudos 1856 C-CE MS61 NGC, Culiacan mint, KM383.2. Only the third example of this oft heavily bagmarked and circulated 8 Escudos that we have offered in Mint State. Though the typical central softness is present, the obverse appears to have been struck from a very heavily polished die, leaving an exceptionally strong finish to the peripheral elements.
