William III Crown 1700 UNC Details (Cleaned) PCGS, KM494.3, S-3474. DVODECIMO edge. An appreciable example even given its noted cleaning, which for all intents and purposes is almost an afterthought given what is a far above average state of execution and preservation for the type. The vast majority of William's coinage following the Great Recoinage of 1696 is often shoddily produced, due to the huge numbers turned out by the Royal Mint to replace the issues already in circulation, causing fully uncirculated specimens such as the present piece to demand a premium.
