Maximilian II Taler 1577/3 AU53 NGC, Prague mint, cf. Dav-8055 (date unlisted), Voglhuber-69 (same). An unusual overdated issue, with what appears to be an additional 7 punch used over the final 3 in the date (already engraved in a very similar style to the number 7). We note that the 1577 date for this type is otherwise only recorded for Kuttenberg. The mintmaster's mark also appears to be a wing rather than a griffin head-in-shield.
