Basel. City 2 Taler ND (c. 1640) MS63 NGC, KM-A95, Dav-1740, HMZ-2-77a. A superlative example of this short-lived double taler that proves incredibly elusive in Mint State, only 5 pieces in the NGC census awarded that distinction. The Redwood example we offered in 2016 ranked 5 points lower and the Moretti collection did not contain a representative at all. Additionally lightly colored in rainbow hues and strikingly fresh, it is sure to be a target of fierce bidding.
