Description

George IV gold Proof 1/2 Sovereign 1826 PR65 Cameo PCGS, KM700, S-3804, W&R-249. A single wisp of handling in front of George's bust represents essentially all that can be seen by the naked eye as it traverses the surfaces of this top-tier specimen, the only other characteristics being those of gem quality: a full strike, sharp visual contrast, unblemished features, and dazzling reflectivity define the quality of the piece, a slight degree of surface tone adding a touch of uniqueness and originality. Tied for the finest example of the type seen by PCGS, with only two certified more highly by NGC.
