Edward IV (2nd Reign, 1471-1483) gold Angel ND (1477-1480) MS63 PCGS, Tower mint, Pierced Cross and Pellet mm, S-2091, N-1626, Schneider-465. 5.13gm. (pierced cross and pellet) ЄDWΛRD' x DЄI GRΛ' x RЄX x ΛnGL' x Z (retrograde) x FRΛnC: (saltire stops), Archangel Michael, nimbate, spearing the dragon (Satan) with long cross staff / (pierced cross and pellet) PЄR | CRVCЄm x TVΛ' x SΛLVΛ x nOS XPЄ' RЄDЄmPT' (saltire stops), cross and royal shield over ship, Є and rose to either side. A glorious representative of this rare gold Angel, seldom encountered in superior quality, and with the entirety of the design, furthermore, captured by the flan. Lightly stippled in the fields to give an almost velveteen texture, and only the eighth Mint State second reign Angel we have offered.
