Hamburg. Free City gold "Peace of Amiens" Medal of 5 Ducats 1802 MS63 S NGC, Gaed-1993, Vogel-8826. 37mm. 16.81gm. By A. Abramson. On the Treaty of Amiens, ending hostilities between Britain and France during the French Revolutionary Wars. Though the peace would ultimately prove short-lived, erupting into conflict lasting through the entirety of the Napoleonic wars, ending in 1815, this medal survives to the present, displaying superb Prooflike surfaces with cameo-contrasting features. Given the star designation by NGC for exceptional eye appeal.
