João V gold 12800 Reis (Dobra) 1729-R UNC Details (Cleaned) NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM140, LMB-195, Bentes-106.05 (R2). Already quite a fleeting date from João's reign, and one which, for the large size of this denomination, rarely escapes even minor dings and bagmarks. As such, fully uncirculated examples are exceedingly difficult to come by. Despite some light hairlines from a past cleaning, the present example retains a remarkably fresh appearance, with even these contained entirely to the obverse.
