Pakistan State Bank of Pakistan 10 Rupees ND (1950) Pick R3s Haj Pilgrim Issue Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. In 1950 the Pakistani authorities introduced Haj notes to be used by Muslims who made the pilgrimage into Saudi Arabia. Initially the issuance included Iraq as well, but was changed to only Saudi Arabia a year later. These notes were not legal tender in Pakistan, and their main purpose was to attempt exchange control and safeguard the new Pakistan Rupee. The State Bank of Pakistan issued Haj notes until 1994. The example on offer is the sole graded example on the PMG Population Report. We have been unable to find any past sale records whatsoever. What makes this example particularly rare and thus desirable is the Raschid signature variety, which is almost unobtainable in any form. A Specimen that is missing from most specialized Haj collections, it could potentially far surpass our conservative estimate. Previously mounted. A chance not to be missed.
