Canada Toronto, ON- Imperial Bank of Canada $5 1.1.1910 Ch.# 375-12-06 PMG Very Fine 20. This institution rose from humble origins to become one of Canada's largest and most important banks, with a nationwide presence by the 1890s. While many of its later notes are easily obtainable, this example is quite scarce, with only thirteen graded in the PMG Population Report. Printed by Waterlow & Sons of London, this piece features a portrait of young King Edward VIII in a sailor's uniform on the front while, an allegory of a seated woman surrounded by books with an owl at her feet, perhaps representing Wisdom, graces the back.
