Flanders. Philip IV of Spain gold Souverain d'Or 1657 MS61 NGC, Bruges mint, KM32, Fr-227. 5.51gm. An impressive piece with the striking image of a crowned lion, sword in paw, ready to conquer the globe before him. Slight softness in strike in some areas, as is to be expected, but overall quite sharp and very scarce so fine. A light hint of coppery tone accentuates the surfaces of this piece.
