Description
Ottoman Empire. Mehmed V gold "Monnaie de Luxe" 500 Kurush AH 1327 Year 8 (1915/1916) AU58 NGC, Constantinople mint (in Turkey), KM778, Pere-1029 (Year 4). Mintage: 1,618. The second lowest mintage date in this only 7-year series, representing the final monnaie de luxe issue prior to the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire following the First World War. Struck from heavily polished dies to produce a nearly Prooflike finish, and the first representative we had ever offered.
