Republic gold Peso 1895 UNC Details (Cleaned) NGC, KM56. From a tiny reported mintage of 43 pieces. Displaying a flurry of light hairlines in line with the assigned grade, but quite nice for a type often found with such surface issues, and very desirable as an attainable example of this rare date. All Honduran gold coins of this era are scarce to rare. The 1911 Annual Report of the Director or the US Mint, page 139, reported that between 1879 and 1902 Honduras struck only 1,421 pesos worth of gold coins, face value.
