Description
George VI gold Proof 1/2 Sovereign 1937 PR67 S NGC, KM858, S-4077. Mintage: 5,500. Simply spectacular and utterly pristine, this one-year Proof struck for George's coronation admits not the least ground for complaint. Presently the top graded specimen at NGC in this designation out of 203 certified, just one PR68 Cameo ranking finer, this is the highest specimen we have handled. For completeness, we note that Marsh records a mintage for this type at just 5,001 pieces.
