Victoria gold Sovereign 1844 MS65 PCGS, KM736.1, S-3852. An excellent example of this early Young Head type, crisply struck throughout save upon the two lowest leopards on the shield (as typical for these early dates), and imbued with a wonderful marigold tone and smooth, satiny luster. A stunning sovereign, and certainly one of the finest extant of the date.
