Description

Prussia. Wilhelm II Proof 5 Mark 1891-A PR64 NGC, Berlin mint, KM523, J-104. The first year of issue for what is probably the most recognized type of Wilhelm II's reign, and already the second lowest mintage date within the series as a business strike, this issue escalates to an entirely new level of rarity as a Proof. Brilliantly toned with smoky surfaces that reveal underlying sunset hues when rotated in hand, it stands as the sole example we have offered, the sole example certified in this format by NGC, and the first we have been able to locate coming to auction since 2008.
