Description

Charles VII gold Écu d'Or à la Couronne ND (1422-1461) MS62 NGC, Romans mint (pellet beneath 2nd letter), Fr-307, Dup-511, Ciani-633. 3.49gm. Crowned arms of France, a crowned fleur de lis to either side / cross fleurée with crowns in angles, a quatrefoil in the center, all within quadrilobe. 1st Emission (from 28 January 1436). Though slightly speckled in texture, quite nice for the issue, very well-centered and with essentially no softness throughout, the lettering bold and fully legible. Scarce so fine.
