Obv: Crowned bust of Menelik II right, dated EE 1892 (1899) below with surrounding inscription. Rev: 7-line inscription reading: S.A.I. & R. / LE PRINCE TAFFARI / Héritier de la Couronne / et / Régent de l'Empire d'Ethiopie / Visite La Monnaie / Le 19 Mai 1924. Only the second specimen of this rare mint visit issue we have handled and presently the sole certified piece in the NGC census, graced with a soft graphite finish which admits little evidence of serious tone. Mislabeled on the holder as Gill-RT9A.
