Republic gold 4 Escudos 1826 BOGOTA-JF XF45 NGC, Bogota mint, KM86, Fr-69. This elusive one-year type was the only post-colonial 4 Escudos issue of the nation of Colombia, and as such is highly prized among collectors. The present example is very likely one of the finest examples extant, and at the high end for the assigned grade, with no shortage of luster remaining and very little true wear overlying a slightly weak strike. A very desirable piece.
