INDIA. Kushan Empire. Kanishka II (ca. AD 226-240). AV dinar (21mm, 12h). ANACS XF40. Peshawar. ÞAONANOÞAO KAN-HÞKO KOÞANO, Kanishka II standing facing, diademed nimbate head left wearing jeweled conical hat with forehead crescent and crown ornament, in jeweled kaftan with long loose hanging sleeves and arched hemline, over belted tunic with segmented collar, jeweled trousers and boots, bracelets on each wrist, sword hanging from waist with tip touching ground to right, flames on right shoulder, ribboned staff with knob finial in left hand, sacrificing over altar with right hand to left; filleted trident to left, ha(Brahmi) between altar and leg, B (Greek) in right field / APΔOXÞO, Ardoxsho seated facing on wide, cushioned, high backed throne with ornate legs, nimbate head facing with double crescent crown ornament, wearing ankle length robe with shoulder brooches and long scarf, feet on small rugs with scattered coins, diadem with two ribbons in right hand, cradling cornucopia in left arm; tamgha to upft.
