Description
Republic gold 8 Escudos 1855/2 QUITO-GJ AU53 PCGS, Quito mint, KM34.1, Fr-8, Onza-1774. A fine example of this conditionally difficult issue featuring scattered light friction and highpoint rub that leaves a touch of flatness to the highest features, mint luster pervading across both faces of the planchet to confirm the grade assigned and pointing only to lighter circulation. Clearly overdated, the outline of a "2" expressed underneath the final digit of the date.
