MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR drachm (18mm, 4.09 gm, 11h). XF. Posthumous issue of 'Colophon', 310-301 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion-skin headdress, paws tied before neck / ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Zeus seated left on backless throne, right leg drawn back, feet on stool, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; K in left field, Φ below strut. Cf. Price 1823. Note - this coin is clearly from 'Colophon', however, the left field should contain a clear KA monogram and this example shows no evidence of a crossbar on the K to indicate a monogram.
