Cuba El Banco Espanol de la Habana 25 Pesos 18.xx.1889 Pick 21 PMG Very Fine 20. An utterly remarkable issued banknote, and at the time of cataloging, the finest of only two examples graded in the PMG Population Report. A handwritten date and manuscript signature at right are seen on this handsome uniface type, which is part of a large series that seldom, if ever, appears in auction. This may be the first issued example offered in a public auction, making this an important opportunity to acquire a seriously rare banknote. Mild toning, notations, ink stamps, and a hole are noted for accuracy on this example, which still has good eye appeal despite its advanced age and the climate in which this note circulated.
