A widely desirable Japanese foreign bank type, extremely rare in issued form. This bank issued currency in major Chinese cities from 1902 until 1924, at which time its precious metal reserves were exhausted. Red overprints, a hole punched cancellation, and repairs are seen on this large format type. Very rare, visually pleasing, and sought after.
