Bataafse Republiek (1795-1806) - Ontwerpen (Proefmunten) voor het Bataafs Gemenebest - 5 Stuivers 1800 - Pattern for the new National coinage by J.G. Holzhey and David van der Kellen Sr. after an idea of the Secretary of Finance I.J. Alexander Gogel. Obv. A radiant Liberty Cap on the Law Book of the new State Regulation resting on an altar. On the altar an anchor and dolphin, the date 1800 in exergue. Inscription: EEN EN ONVERDEELD STERK. Rev. Denomination within oak wreath. Inscription: BATAAFSCH GEMEENEBEST . – ‘ T 6 JAAR. - According to the accompanying collector's ticket this piece was acquired at a J. Schulman auction in 1961 for 150 Gulden. - RRRR. OF THE HIGHEST RARITY - NGC MS63 - Cert. # 8361713-005., ex collection Vinkenborg
