USA - Tokens - Early American - Rhode Island Ship Token dually-dated 1778 and 1779 (KM Tn28a, Eimer783, Betts561) - Obv: Ship without sails on sea, WITH wreath below ship, Dutch lines / Rev: Map of Aquidneck or Newport Island depicting American soldiers fleeing from three British ships to left toward 13 rowboats to right, Dutch lines - brass 33 mm - NGC AUNC Details cleaned (6636107-001), the Rhode Island Ship medal was likely a propaganda piece issued by Great Britain with the intent of keeping the Dutch out of the Revolutionary War. Betts-563 is the final version with VLUGTENDE (on the ship die) replaced with a wreath ornament
