Historiepenningen - 1617 - Medal 'Hoop op welvaart voor het land' by Jacob Uyttenwael (vL.55, PR.819, Roovers 64) - Obv. (coat of arms Hoorn) VERRIT (Medemblik) TVRBIDA - (lily) NAVTA (Enkhuizen) ÆQVORA Sailing ship to the left, below a curved West Frisian coat of arms between 16 and 17 / Rev. (five-petalled rose) AVIDI SPES FIDA COLONI Woman milking a cow within a fence - silver 49 mm 30,42 grams - VF/XF - NB Described by Van Loon for 1609, and then probably relative to the Twelve Years' Truce; known with the years 1617 and 1622. Produced by the West Frisian mint master Caspar Wijntges (mmt. lily) probably on behalf of the West Frisian States and made by the regional die cutter Jacob (possibly Paulus) Uyttenwael.
