Nero (54-68 AD) - Sestertius 64 AD - Mint: Rome - Obverse: Laureate bust right, wearing aegis on left shoulder - Reverse: Nero seated right on platform; official seated right on another platform extending congiarium to citizen with small boy behind him; Minerva standing left, holding owl and spear, and Liberalitas standing on right, holding tessera - gr. 26,47 - Very rare. A magnificent portrait of fine style well struck in high relief and a lovely dark green patina.
