A blue faience scarab with separate black faience wings, altogether 8,4cm wide. The charming item has been in the possession of Anton Badrutt, who managed the Winter Palace Hotel in Luxor from 1920 to 1935, during the most prestigious time of this place when Sir Howard Carter made his discoveries in the grave of Tutankhamun and all the elite of the world travelled to Egypt.
