Small Greek bronze situla. 350 - 250 BC. Height without and with handle 9,5 / 13,2cm, ø corpus 8,8cm. Bucket for wine or water with curved corpus, two movable stirrup handles and two handle attachments in form of a silen and lion head, last one serving at once as spout. Below the rim and underneath trimmed groove-decor. Also underneath four old labels. Dark green patina, traces of corrosion, one handle ending broken, otherwise intact. With auction history going back to 1882! Kleine griechische Bronzesitula. 350 - 250 v. Chr. H ohne / mit Henkel 9,5 / 13,2cm, ø Körper 8,8cm. Gefäß für Wein oder Wasser mit geschwungenem Körper, zwei beweglichen Bügelhenkel sowie zwei Henkelattaschen in Form von Silens- und Löwenköpfen, wobei letzterer auch als Ausguss dient. Unter dem Rand und auf der Unterseite abgedrehter Rillendekor. Auf der Unterseite vier alte Aufkleber. Dunkelgrüne Patina, Korrosionsspuren, ein Henkelende gebrochen, sonst intakt.
