Fragment of a Roman grave stele. Eastern Mediterranean, Middle Imperial Period, 2nd - 3rd century AD. Hight 28,4cm, width 21,1cm. Fine white marble. In the middle the deceased man wearing a himation and with his right arm in a loop on high the breast, at the left side a twisted column. Above on the architrave the deepened inscription: ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΟ[...] / ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΟΥ / ΒΟΥΚΟΛΘΩΝ. Broken above and below and on the right side, overworked at the left side and on the back, the face of the man probable overworked in ancient times. Fragment von einem römischen Grabrelief. Östlicher Mittelmeerraum, mittlere Kaiserzeit, 2. - 3. Jh. n. Chr. H 28,4cm, B 21,1cm. Feinkristalliner weißer Marmor. Zentral ein Mann im Himation mit dem rechten Arm in der Brustschlaufe des Gewandes, am linken Rand eine tordierte Säule mit Kompositkapitell. Oben auf dem Architrav die eingetiefte Inschrift: ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΟ[...] / ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΟΥ / ΒΟΥΚΟΛΘΩΝ. Rechts, oben und unten gebrochen, auf der linken Seite und rückwärtig etwas abgearbeitet, Gesicht wohl antik überarbeitet.
