Greek head of woman with polos. Greek Classical Period, Sicily, 400 - 375 BC. Height 15,8cm and with stand 29,5cm. Hand mould brown terracotta. Nearly in the round head of a young lady with voluminous hairdress with middle part. She is wearing a tall polos and a necklace, both decorated with stamped circle ornaments. Narrow part of the back is flattened. Masterpiece of Greek terracotta figurines! Broken at the neck, otherwise in excellent condition, mounted on tall wooden stand. Kopf einer Frau mit Polos. Fast vollplastischer Kopf einer jungen Frau mit voluminöser Lockenfrisur mit Mittelscheitel, auf dem Kopf hoher Polos und um den Hals eine Kette, beides mit gepunzten Kreisornamenten verziert. Streifen auf der Rückseite flach geglättet. Meisterwerk griechischer Koroplastik! Im Hals gebrochen, sonst in exzellentem Zustand, auf hohem Holzsockel montiert.
