Figural Roman mouldmade terra sigillata bottle in form of a woman´s head. North Africa, 2nd half 3rd century AD. Height 26cm, width 11,7cm. One-handle bottle with narrow neck and large cylindrical mouth in form of a veiled lady´s head with middle parting. On the back of the head below the handle as special feature the bust of Sol and below the bust of Men with crescent, on the left and right side the helmet busts of Minerva and Mars. Piece of extreme interest! The deep reddish brown glaze is partially flaked off at the front, otherwise intact. Römische Terra Sigillata-Flasche in Form eines Frauenkopfes. Nordafrika, 2. Hälfte 3. Jh. n. Chr. H 26cm, B 11,7cm. Formgetöpfert und mit tief rotbraunem Überzug. Einhenkelig mit sich verjüngendem Hals und hoher zylindrischer Mündung. Kopf einer verschleierter Dame mit Mittelscheitelfrisur. Auf dem Hinterkopf als Besonderheit unter dem Henkel Büste des Sol, darunter Büste des Men vor Lunula, seitlich die behelmten Büsten von Minerva und Mars jeweils nach links. Extrem interessantes Stück! Überzug auf der Vorderseite stellenweise abgeplatzt, sonst intakt.
