1860-O Liberty Seated Dollar. PCGS MS61

1860-O. PCGS graded MS-61. A bright white frosty mint example with strong luster and a solid strike on both sides. A few hints of russet-gold toning are found with one patch of deeper tone on the reverse. An original bag of these turned up decades ago, long broken up and dispursed, otherwise this popular New Orleans issue would be a prohibitive rarity in such grades and mint state. Historic in so many regards, struck just months before the outbreak of the Civil War, and at the historic Southern Mint of New Orleans.
